Dr. Edward Laubach, OD

Driven by a belief in lifelong learning and preventive care, Dr. Ed Laubach has spent more than three decades helping patients of all ages see clearly and live fully. Originally from Tustin in Orange County, he earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1991 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from California State University, Fullerton.

As a long-time partner at Visualeyes Optometry, Dr. Laubach provides comprehensive eye exams, treats anterior segment conditions, and specialises in advanced contact lens fittings – particularly for myopia control. He also oversees key aspects of practice management, including staff development and forward-thinking marketing strategies.

In addition to his role in private practice, Dr. Laubach works with East Bay Eye Centers, a multi-specialty ophthalmology group, where he supports glaucoma, cataract, cornea, and oculoplastic care as an optometric liaison. His focus on post-surgical co-management and care coordination has helped strengthen outcomes for patients and local referring doctors alike.

He’s especially passionate about myopia management, seeing it as an opportunity to not just improve a child’s vision today, but protect their eye health for the future. Whether through orthokeratology or the latest dual-axis lens technology, he’s always excited to offer cutting-edge options that make a lasting impact.

Outside the exam room, Dr. Laubach is a committed community leader and longtime Boy Scouts volunteer, guiding youth in leadership, integrity, and resilience. He enjoys hiking, photography, baseball, and spending time with his two sons and rescue dogs.
